This an awesomely epic EP that hold I very dear.
Especially the second track "Amo Bishop Roden" is a masterpiece in it's own right.
Calm, dreamy and the perfect tonal extrapolation of "Music Has The Right To Children".
This record works on me the same way as Tim Hecker's "An Imaginary Country" does:
I either imagine myself driving through a cold, snowy, quiet city, or I in fact AM on my way through the city - usually with public transport.
And when I do, everything seems so completely out of place. Everything, everybody just floats by, like a time lapse video.
Listening to "Amo Bishop Roden", you're caught in the timeless stream of sound - it is so far away from the vicissitude around you, the fast pace of life. You instinctivly begin to question all this without even knowing why, but you're sure that something definately is wrong. Maybe because you feel reminded of the carefree when you were little and how there was no such thing like deadlines.
At least that's the way how I feel.
Maybe you'll experience a similar sentiment while savouring this gem.

ReplyDeletesince you´ve already deleted your comment I suppose you either realized that it was improperly harsh and/or found the pass by being less lazy.
Deletecheers!
are there any links on this blog that aren't hosted by rapidshare by chance? albums you have up are AWESOME btw ive been looking everywhere for flac files of these kinds of bands, thank you so much!
ReplyDeletei´m afraid not and i think this won´t change in the near future..i might consider mediafire some time, but we´ll see about that.
Deletethanks for your kind words, if you have any requests, don´t hesitate to let me know!
I second the request for something other than RS. You have a great blog here and awesome taste and i want a bunch of stuff in flac on here but my downloads always fail after like 10 hours of downloading.
ReplyDeleteIve tried 3 different albums over the span of some months and im always so frustrated i dont come back for a while. Then i see you post something else awesome and try again but with the same stupid results.
I know its not my connection because its only RS that this happens with. In the end i know its not so easy to just jump to a new host so i understand if you just dont have the time, i just figured i would let you know how it is. thanks for the effort regardless!
i haven't been able to use my own pc for several weeks now, but as soon as i'm not as occupied (hoping for week-ends and early september) the move will be made.
Deletei'm sorry you guys are having so much trouble!
rs was a lot more accessible when i started this blog..
Rising From Bedlam's - Suffering Jukebox had the same issue with RS. I too like the blog and would love to capture some of the Boards Of Canada but the decompression of the zip always fails. Same issue as SJ had. Looking forward to more :-)
